THE LINK

Many of you noticed in our little Ibis Cycles website update recently, a couple not too subtle hints about what is to come. Since you’ve gone to all the trouble of actually reading this far in this first sentence, we have a reward for you. Here’s an engineer’s eye view of one of the parts of one of our new bikes.

You can decipher and speculate all you want, and you’ll probably be pretty close if any of the MTBR and other newsgroups are any indication.
We gave you another teaser too, but we’ll embellish here for you. A little bit anyway. Again, a reward for wading in this deep.

Have fun, check back often, ride more, work less.

Wow a carbon ibis… I’m salivating!! It will be doubly exciting if you guys combine some carbon weave with ti. After all thats what you were always good at – titanium.

  2. cursivearmy Says:

hey fellars, looks like some nice juicy suspension bits, and some space age carbon fibre, all is good in my opinion because no matter what direction you go with Ibis the people will be stoked, well all except the folks who want you to make it exactly what it was before, and dang man, what fun is that? I for one and stoked on all the new creativity and can’t wait to see what day time imaginations come to life.

if bikes aren’t for fun, than what the hell good are they?

create and ride, can’t wait to checkem out in vegas, beers on me.

  3. barkbustingScorcher Says:

    Hi Scot,

Great to see you back in the industry again. Saw Hans at my BD party last week, look forward to seeing you again at Interbike.

And before you ask no, absolutely not. Despite the rumors that Robb Mesecher is criculating, there will be no, repeat NO more Gorillanet.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am currently looking for another mountain frame to save the wear and tear on the Mojo but I can wait for your new stuff. Steel Singlespeed 29er???? Can’t wait!!

I would like to see a mix of the old and new. I can’t wait to see what’s being cooked up; carbon, ti whatever, it’s going to be sweet! That said, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ – I’d also like to see some of the classics back in action…Silk Ti, even hardtails!!! The anticipation is seriously causing me to lose sleep at night…

  7. BikeBlogs.com Says:

Lookin good! I’ve got one of the last Mojo hartdtail’s made, and can’t wait to add another Ibis to the stable! Hopefully an Ibis 29er maybe? Looking forward to future Ibis updates!

I’m sure anything coming with the name Ibis on it will be welcomed by all who have ridden thier origonal bikes. Hell, I’m still finding out the ins and outs of my own Ibis Ti stable. Fruita, steamboat ( yeah I got lots of dirty looks from the moots guys) and several summit county trails this year combined with the silk ti have made me love MTB’n all over again. and my sonoma Ti has pulled me through more harry situations commuting than I can count. I’m glad scot is involved……w/o it , the come back wouldn’t have the same soul. ride on…

  9. Guitar Ted Says:

    tandems…!?!!

  13. James Says:

I’d love to see the old style decals brought back onto the mojo frame, along with the availability of the steel stems again.

How great would Ibis rigid MTB forks be?

  14. Bob of Bow Ti-Love Says:

I want to ride with another Bow Ti! Where are all the 270 or so units ? Let’s redezvous, have a convention! 8 years after purchasing, I still Love to ride my Bow Ti 15-20 hours/week up and down very technical roots, rocks, and swoops.. Have straightened out the CP Ti derailleur hangar at least a dozen times (call me “sticks”) — thankful for that hangar being CP and hoping I’ll never catch another stick, and more hopeful that hangar will bend back forever.
In November, Mike Augspurger, formerly of Merlin, now of One-Off Titanium (http://www.titaniumarts.com/) will weld a rear disc tag on (he has the blessings of John C.) ok.. you got it, I still think Ibis Bow Ti is the best FS ever built! Catch me if you can.
