THE MAN
Hi All,
We’ve been pretty stingy with information about the new Ibis that’s about to be unleashed on an unsuspecting bike world. While we still don’t have much information of substance about our actual bikes to share, we thought we’d fire up this new part of the Ibis website.
We’ll launch the full website right around the first day of the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas. That means you’ll know all there is to know on or about September 28th.
In the mean time, we’re going to share our thoughts about a few things. Some will be bike related, some not. I guess a lot of people call this a blog. But we don’t really like that word. We don’t really even like blogs. We like podcasts a lot, but they’re too much work, so don’t expect one of them soon. Expect a few random thoughts and maybe a peek into some of the fun stuff we’ve been up to in between all-night welding sessions.
As we’ve been digging through the archives, reviewing twenty-plus years of living our little bike dream, we’ve come across a few goodies. We’re going to share them with you now and again, as we dust off the old picture books.
Here’s the first juicy bit. Eddy was my hero growing up, and I guess in a lot of ways still is. He signed this for me I don’t remember where, but I can tell you that Chuck Ibis was a happy boy that day.

Now, for those of you not familiar with the absolute dominance that Eddy exhibited during his career, I highly recommend you read this article written in 2000 by Ted Costantino. Ted lays it all out for you, no one-possibly in any sport let alone cycling-has ever shown this amount of utter domination.

OK, time to ride.

Ibis is back!?!? Cool! I am about to load up my 1997 beautiful British Racing Green steel Ibis Mojo for a trip to Mammoth for 4 days of riding over the weekend! Scot, you won’t remember, but I chatted with you briefly at a “History of the Bicycle” show at the Oakland Museum back in 1999 or 2000. It’s great news that Ibis will be back in the industry mixing it up with the other manufacturers and bringing innovative designs to the marketplace.

Waas up. I want the signed Eddy poster. All I can say is that since Ibis is back, my Ti bottle opener isn’t worth as much on ebay. On the other hand, it will sure be nice to see some new sick bike tech to waste my hard earned money on. Great to see there is still some soul in the sport.

I’ve said it a thousand times. Hell, I said it at least 36 times on Saturday. The only acceptable color for handlebar tape is White. Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green, Grey, Maize, Sea Spray, Lilac, September Morn, Flags, Logos, all that shit, even Black, is for suckers. Colored tape is for tennis racquets and softball bats. Eddy did right. All the time, every time.
I love Ibis. Yes I do.

Welcome back, Ibis, its like the world got a little better and brighter when I read the email announcing the rebirth!
I’m curious as to your take on the latest allegations against Lance Armstrong. I’ve heard Eddie’s take, he’s siding with Lance, what’s your take? My belief is that its yet another witch hunt and much ado about nothing.

…..un fing believable….you guys are back, with the same style and sense of,….hmmm humor, or is it just sick twisted minds?
Well if your new series is anything like the first time around, we are ready to play…there was only so much I could do with my Spanky,ie., Dura Ace 10speed, Ksyrium wheels, Ibis Titanium stem, Ouzo Pro….. waiting for y’all.

Damn CD – I thought you loved Tim. But having Chuck back is keen – really keen. Makes Interbike worth looking forward for once. Will Ibis bikes be at the outdoor demo?

What’s the plural of Ibis? Ibi? Anyway, I am still riding both my Ibi (still digging that monkey puke green) and glad to see you are coming back. If you need someone to spread the word in the Northeast, let me know.
Not making it to Interbike this year, but I am sure I will see you somewhere. All the best.

Yo Petunia!
Izzat really you? Can’t believe they let you out to play anymore. So where are the beer openers? That’s what Ibis was all about anyway, right? Beer openers and that toejam thing. Or was it the potato cannon? Crimeny, its’ been so long I can hardly see straight. Can’t remember a thing.
I heard you were laying farts over at the Special Lies booth yesterday, at least that’s the way Pranchak tells it. We will be wanting a full show report with all the technocolor details when it’s all over.
