Archive for October, 2005MOJO!Monday, October 10th, 2005SHOW FOLLOW-UPMonday, October 3rd, 2005We’re finally able to take a bit of a breather after returning from the show, unloading the van, going through emails and orders, and perhaps most important of all, unloading our precious GOLDEN TOIDY award! Tom, Hans and I talked after the show about our experience there. We got a lot of great press, had universal positive acceptance of our bikes, and nearly sold out our entire production we have planned for the upcoming year. That was unprecedented in any of our collective experiences at prior trade shows. And we’ve done a lot of them. So we want to thank all of you who attended the show for the great feedback, the positive press reviews and the confidence-inspiring orders. And we’d like to thank (most of) you who have piped in about Ibis in the various online discussions, we’re really glad to see our new bikes very well received. They are quite a departure from Ibis of the past, but then again, we’ve done this sort of thing before. The Carbon bikes of the late 80’s, Szazbo Sweet Spot suspension design, and of course the unprecedented and still unparalleled BowTi, not to mention pivotless aluminum Ripley and the SilkTi; all were new technology in the world of bicycles. We think the new bikes fit neatly into the Ibis legacy of thinking a bit outside the triangle. –Scot COLORSMonday, October 3rd, 2005A quick note about colors, as some of you are asking. We are planning on offering both mountain and road bikes with either a painted finish or the very desirable clearcoated carbon finish. We’re not sure which colors we’ll be offering yet, we’re going to be painting up a bunch of samples and deciding from there. We have a bit of time, as the frames are slated for delivery in March. Also, no word yet on pricing difference. We’ll let you know when we’ve got it figured out. |
