STILL ON TRACK and TOUR DE NEZ
Tom has just reported back from the factory visit, says we are still on line for the first Mojo Carbon frames to get to us at the end of the month. That’s this month, June 2006, just so you know.
Once we get them, we need to do assembly of the frames, and make sure all is well in the QC department.
What I can’t tell you yet is which shops are getting bikes. It’s going to be like a surprise. We need to do QC on the bikes and are never sure how many we’ll ship. We do have all the bits we need to assemble everything, shocks, forks and parts picks too. So, cross your fingers and whatever else you think might work, and wait by the phone for a call from your shop.
You’re also free to write to my to inquire about delivery of your frame. I’ve just gazed into my crystal balls and already know what you’re going to ask, so here’s the answer for you.
Dear YOUR NAME HERE
Thanks for your inquiry about the ship date of your brand spankin’ new pimpy-fresh Mojo Carbon. Sorry I can’t give you a more personal response, but we’re busy putting these carbon beauties together.
Rest assured that we are working to get your bike delivered to you. We are doing our best to fill orders as fast as we can, and your patience is greatly appreciated.
Rubber Side Down,
Your friends at Ibis
In the mean time, happy sumer solstice week; get outside and enjoy the long days! Or short days if you’re in that other hemisphere.
One of the more fun road stage races each year is the Tour de Nez. It takes place up in the Reno/Tahoe area.

The race is named after the cafe in Reno call Deux Gros Nez (two big noses in some foreign tongue). Deux Gros Nez, is partially (we figure about half) named after the nose of its supreme commander Tim Healion who as you might imagine has a protuberant proboscis. Here’s proof, a profile shot I took of Tim when he was on an industrial spying mission at the Tour of California, getting paid to steal as many ideas as he could. Good work if you can get it.

Where was I?
Oh yeah, Reno!
Reno as many of you know is the spiritual and cultural center of western Nevada. And it just so happens that Deux Grox Nez is the spiritual, cultural AND culinary center of Reno. Plus there is fun cycling stuff all over the walls.
Why do we tell you this? Well, if you’re in the area, stop by Saturday in Wingfield Park in beautiful downtown Drano er I mean Reno. There’s a big fun expo with all sorts of stuff happening. We’ll have an Ibis booth there with both the Silk and Mojo Carbon on display. And we’ll be sneaking over to Deux Grox Nez for an espresso at some point. Or maybe a frapp.
Check all the stuff that’s happening over the three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday): The Mighty Tour de Nez Classic Criterium, A Century Ride, A Road Race in Truckee and Tahoe, A Bike Messenger Race, Kids Race, A three-stage Clunker Classic, Handcycling National Championships, Old Truckee Criterium, Verdi Time Trial, Bike Swap, Bike Exhibit, Free Bike Clinics, Expo, Classic Bicycle Ride, Classic Bicycle Sale, Vintage Bicycle Parade, Art Bike Contest, Corporate Challenge, First Annual Bike Shop Challenge. Man, they’re going to need at least three days to fit that all in.
So if you don’t have plans for this weekend (June 22-24) and you can make it to the mountains, come and see us.
Ciao,
Scot AKA “pimpy blogstocking” & “chuck ibis” & other
PS attending this event won’t delay the delivery of your Mojo!
