Been glued to the TV the last few days (waiting for US Customs to call us back). Coverage starts at 3:30 am over here on the west coast for a couple of these stages. Thank technology for the TiVo. Oh, in case you’re wondering, I’m watching a bike race on TV called the Tour DAY France.

Observation: It’s really really nice not to have the same old script year after year.

Observation: Floyd’s pretty impressive. (Understatement).

But he also shows panache, and some soul.

One of my favorite stories coming from the tour the last few days…this from the letour.fr website:

“After Floyd Landis regained the lead of the Tour de France at the top of L’Alpe d’Huez he decided that he wanted a beer to celebrate the moment. On the road down to his hotel, his team car pulled over and the American traded a yellow jersey for a six-pack of beer with a spectator.”

When you leave the top of L’Alpe d’Huez in a helicopter, you can’t do that!

Way to go, FUNKY!
