07/20/06 Scotts Valley, CA – Investigative reporters working for the AP having been looking into the whereabouts of the first production run of the new Ibis Mojo Carbon mountain bike frame. These same reporters working under deep cover have posted the attached photo, sent from within the Ibis headquarters compound, today offering conclusive proof of the existence of the much rumored Mojo production. After the hullabaloo caused by the Mojo’s introduction at the 2005 Interbike Show in Las Vegas and even more excitement aroused following stellar ride tests in Mountain Bike Action and Mountain Bike magazines questions were raised about whether the Mojo would ever see production. In particular, representatives from bicycle industry behemoths – Special-ed and Drek – cast doubts about the viability of the Mojo given the complexity of the design as well as their pending patent filings over the invention of the wheel (Drek and Special-ed’s competing patent filings will soon be heard before the court). The photo from the AP would seem to prove the bike gorillas wrong. More to come…

I will spend the entire day at work today using the company phone to call long distance to every Ibis dealer in the country asking for their Mojo frame. And when I get reprimanded and/or fired for abusing company phone procedure I will remember that it was well worth it.

Although I placed my deposit on a frame in December… yes December, my shop just informed me that I will NOT be receiving a frame from the first shipment. Words can not describe my disappointment, heartbreaking. I’m anxious, I’ve been patient, but this is almost unbearable.
Ibis, you are killin me!!!!! 7 months and counting… August can’t get here soon enough.
By the way… congrats on getting some frames out there, I know its been a long wait for you guys too.

Sorry about that Mark. We were pretty much sold out at the show last September for the first several shipments of bikes. We’re working hard to fill more orders as soon as we can!

i just wonder how many “old” ibis dealers who dropped them in favor of “the other brands” like moots will get some of these first frames??? hopefully everyone’s memory is good and those who have supported Ibis (old and new) will get the first few…shameless plug from an Ibis Ti bike collector/rider
