We seem to be leaking
I’ve got a couple of interesting things to note regarding upcoming stuff from Ibis. Interesting to me anyway, maybe you’ll find it all boring as hell.
Hans just succumbed to a lot of pressure on MTBR and posted a picture of the new “Lopes Link”, a new single upper link that replaces the current two links, adds stiffness (sorry, no numbers yet) and only about 10-15g of weight (13g was an actual weight gain on one of Brian’s bikes–but that’s a prototype).
These are going to be available in our three colors (nickel chrome, red or blue ano). They are also retrofitable on the Mojo Carbon and Mojo SL. The cost will be about $100 (including bearings), as they’re difficult to make and there was a lot of R&D expense. The piece is forged then machined like the other links.
Here’s a view of this sexy little beast!

Now, off to other things
Colin our engineer has been busy busy. Here’s some stuff he did a while ago for the Tranny.
Look at this picture. It’s a Tranny top tube showing the removable geared bike routing. Remove those two little screws and pull off the hydraulic stop, then the double gear cable stop slides right off of there. Pretty clean and slick, nice work Colin and Hans.
And here’s a pair of images, one showing the geared cable guide setup…

…and one showing the single speed setup. Yep, the stops on the seat stay are also removable.
We’re still ironing out a few kinks in the Tranny. Not quite ready for prime time. Stay tuned for updates.

How about an ISCG 05 on the Tranny so that we could run a Hammerschmidt and make it a 2 speed?
