- 17 People (including our winner) bought $100 worth of tickets
- 81 of you wonderful people bought $50 worth of tickets

Again, thank you for your entries everyone, you all did a good thing.
Here’s how we picked our winner:
Each $5 entry was assigned a unique number. This included entries from those of you who visited us at Sea Otter, people who mailed in money to us, and the vast majority of you who donated online. We downloaded all the data from the secure credit card shopping cart interface thingie (I’m trying not to get too Tech-Nicol here). We added the Sea Otter, mail in and Credit Card entries on one big spreadsheet. If you paid us $50, you got ten individual ticket numbers, due to some fancy spreadsheet wizardry. Ok, not really that fancy, but it worked.
At the end of the day, 3975 individual tickets were purchased. We then went over to random.org and entered a string of numbers from 1-3975 in their ‘List Randomizer’.
Here’s what the top part of the results looked like:
As you can see, ticket # 691 was our winner. The winner held tickets 678-697.
