Lopes on the World’s Team, 4 Peat on the A-Line

Friday, August 14th, 2009

USA Cycling announced their worlds team yesterday, and Brian Lopes is on it. Not for 4-Cross, which many associate with Brian, but for Downhill. The worlds will be in Australia on September 1st-6th, and Brian says the course suits his skills well.
You can read the exciting USA Cycling Press Release here.

In other news, Brian has been in Whistler for the last week or so, and after finishing second overall in the Dual Slalom, he managed to WIN the A-Line downhill for the 4th year in a row. Brian won this bike on his Mojo, not on his new prototype Mojo HD. Read the story here, the competition was pretty strong.

Nice work Brian!

Elden Nelson (Fat Cyclist) just wrote his wife Susan’s obituary. For those of you who don’t know, she passed away last Wednesday, at home, surrounded by her family.

It’s a moving tribute, I recommend giving it a read.

We’re committed to continue to work with Elden in his mission to fight cancer. We’ll be doing another project with him in the coming weeks.

FIGHT LIKE SUSAN

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I don’t know if you follow Fat Cyclist. I do. Elden Nelson’s wife Susan passed away tonight. Well, yesterday technically. She fought a many-year battle with cancer and with Elden’s help raised hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid in the fight against cancer. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all.
Our thoughts go out to Elden, and we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and join in his fight against cancer.
FIGHT LIKE SUSAN.
