Hakkalügi Review on cyclingnews.com

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Imagine our surprise when taking a peek at cyclingnews.com today, on the front page headlines they announce a test of the Ibis Hakkalügi Cross bike. Glad we bought those guys drinks at Vegas, booze to the rescue!
OK, we didn’t really buy them drinks, but we will next time. Thanks cyclingnews.com, really appreciate the coverage. And thanks to James Huang for a great test on the “Lugi”. Click the pic to go to the article.

…With a nice award

Well, the 2009 Interbike trade show in Las Vegas is over, and apparently we’ve all made it home just fine.

It’s probably old news by now, but at Interbike last week, the (very smart) readers of MTBR bestowed us with the award for Best All Mountain Bike. It’s a pretty darn big honor, MTBR is well respected, authoritative and this makes it three years in a row we’ve won this award. Thanks to all you at MTBR!
Here’s the image on the side of our Airstream, which is our booth at the Interbike show in Vegas.

Speaking of the booth in Vegas, here it is in all its glory. Click the image to go to the Virtual Trade Show Booth where there is some coverage of the changes for 2010, and a video run through of the line…

World’s Coverage

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Saturday night I watched the live Freecaster coverage of the World Downhill race down in Canberra Australia. I don’t really miss those days of waiting weeks to hear the results of bike races in faraway and nearaway lands.
They did have the world’s coverage start with Brian Lopes’ run, but an alert reader informed me that the video has been replaced by one of a run by some guy named Steve something. So oh well. No matter though, look what I found on pinkbike.com…go full screen fer sher…

BL in OZ

Brian is down in Australia representing the US for the SEVENTEENTH YEAR IN A ROW at the World Championships. That must be some kind of a record (for a guy anyway, I think Jeannie Longo has a couple decades on him).
Here are a couple of interviews conducted with Brian, first a written one from Bike Magazine, and the second a video interview from Canberra. Click the image below to go to the complete interview.

Due Diligence?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

One of the big announcements in the cycling world this weekend was BMC’s signing of George Hincapie. I wonder if they’ll be coming out with some support hose emblazoned with the BMC logo?

WAIT A MINUTE! Is that an image of the virgin Mary in his veinous topography?

I shot this at this year’s Tour of California.
