MOJO HD TRAVELOGUE

Well folks, tomorrow we’ll announce the new Mojo HD pricing and delivery info to the world.
Today we thought we’d show you a few pictures of Mojo HD Number One and the current world tour it is on.

We did give you a little hint a couple weeks ago with a rather Sasquatch sighting looking photo that we posted on an Ibis Newsletter

It started a couple of weeks ago when Tom (our el presidente) and Colin (our el engineero) were visiting the factory and applied the finished graphic package for the first time. The final specs and lay-up had been done for a bit, and it was time to put the finishing touches on it.
Here’s a picture of the frame taken with Tom’s camera phone, getting ready to head to Santa Cruz to be assembled. Yes, one of the color choices (colorway if you prefer) is white.

Tom and Colin hand carried it back to our shop in Santa Cruz where the links and shock were assembled. All systems go so far…
Now comes the fun part. We’d seen some shots done by a very good NYC photographer named Nathan Kraxberger. Sniff around http://www.nathankraxberger.com and you’ll find some luscious photos of a Mojo SL in tidy whitey. And lipstick too. Or look on our twitter page (http://twitter.com/ibis_cycles) where we’ve made exactly zero tweets you’ll see the same beauteous white SL.
So we gave a box to the man in brown and he took it straight to New York City for us. We sent it to our dealer Sid’s where they carefully unpacked it. Then they all posed in front of the shop for a pretty cool multiple exposure.

No, there’s not six HD’s, there’s only one. And by the way, thanks for the nice white SL placement in the window, Sid’s! Appreciate that…
Left to right we have Larry Wallach, Delissa Santos, Nathan Kraxberger, Jay Tarrant, Desiree Stavracos, and Paul Cadena

Here’s the frame clogging up a bike lane, we did this one for the Bike Snob who always takes pictures of things in bike lanes that shouldn’t be in bike lanes. We like the irony.

We like this one too, right smack dab in the middle of the traffic lane

And because no visit to NYC would be complete without a visit to Times Square here you go.

What’s funny about this one is that it just so happened that the billboard behind Nathan is showing an ad for Brian Lopes’ new lime flavored energy drink. Pretty good timing. I guess we just missed the rotation of the Ibis ad up there. Shoot.
Thanks to Delissa Santos for this picture.

From New York the frame needed to find its way over to Italy for an introduction to the Superenduro Team that we have been helping sponsor with our Italian distributor 4Guimp.
First the frame needed to be held up in customs for two weeks, spending Christmas in customs prison somewhere between Cologne Germany and Genova Italy. The frame finally made it though, and got assembled for the first time:

Here’s the frame on a scale. 2.86 Kg translates to 6.3 pounds, right on target.

We’re going to let our Italian friends ride it for a week or two, then it continues its journey up to Scotland to see our UK distributor 2Pure, where it will attend CoreBike a dealer show in the English Midlands. From there it looks like Tom will once again hand carry the bike home…

TOMORROW (Jan 5, 2010) look for a whole bunch more detailed information about the frame, pricing, delivery and other info. We’re finishing up the web page with those luscious studio photos included.
