San Francisco has a chance to be as good as Fresno
THROW YOUR SUPPORT BEHIND THE MCLAREN BIKE PARK
The hard working folks over at SF Urban Riders are fighting the good fight for all of us, and are trying to get some off road trails happening in San Francisco. Go Here if you want to sign the petition, or continue reading, some good info here…
New York City has one (Hybridge Park), in Manhattan no less!
Seattle has the Grandaddy of them all, the I5 Colonade Park, under the mighty (ugly) I5 freeway in Seattle.
Look at this picture of the Colonade Park by db. You’ve got to love this use of otherwise wasted urban space.
One more, because I can’t resist, photo by Ralph Underwood.
Lots more pictures of Seattle here.
Boulder is getting one soon: The Valmont Bikepark Boulder
Lafayette (East of San Francisco) is getting one: LafayetteBikePark.com
And Fresno California, kicking ass on many other cities, already has on: Woodward Mountain Bike Park.
And they have some great photos too!
Anyway, the message here is, if they can do it in all these cities, why not San Francisco?
They can if you help. It’s easy, doesn’t cost anything and you’ll be doing some good.
Check out their plans and fill out the online petition for the McLaren Bike Park. It only takes a second to do.
Thanks.

We’ve got one in Chicago!

And a bike friendly skate-park (umong others) under an over pass that is open at all hours of the day and night, sheltered from the weather.
